It offers resistance, just enough to prevent accidental bumps from displacing the screen which can be an issue on some other models. The hinge that hides the laptop's 360º display has a nice feel when opening or closing the lid.
I like how there's no branding etched into it - aside from your standard Asus and Chrome logos), just one smooth plain surface that gives you plenty of room to make your own statement with stickers or decals (I'm just kidding you wouldn't want to destroy the laptop's aesthetic). The silver color with the blue accents on the bottom part of the deck and black bezels give it a nice touch as well.
I like how soft-touch makes up a large area on the top lid since it makes for an excellent grip. It has an understated design that's basic, but attractive. On that front, the laptop's casing is made entirely from plastic, but it feels sturdy enough for its class and doesn't give off the "cheap" vibe most products using this material usually do.
